What is the Retrograde Calendar?
A planet appears retrograde when, seen from Earth, it seems to move backwards against the zodiac. The planet does not reverse its orbit. Astrologers treat retrogrades as review periods and also watch the shadow: the stretch of sky the planet crosses three times.
The calendar includes Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. Station dates are calculated for your range, not copied from a yearly list, and each retrograde gets its own plain-English reading by sign.
How it works
The built-in ephemeris estimates apparent speed around each date. Direction changes are found where speed crosses zero and refined to about a minute. Shadow dates are when the planet first reaches its later station degree and when it gets back to its first station degree. With a birth date, the retrograde zones are checked against your birth planets.
How it connects to your star sign
This tool uses the tropical zodiac and an analytical ephemeris unless the method says otherwise. Astrology is a symbolic tradition, not a scientific test.
