How we write
We write for real people, not for experts showing off. That means:
- Plain English. Short sentences and everyday words. We aim for text a 12-year-old could follow.
- Terms explained. The first time we use a special word, like "ascendant" or "hexagram", we say what it means.
- Calm and kind. No scare stories, no pressure, no dramatic promises.
- Useful. Every page should help you understand something or do something.
Traditions and sources
Every symbolic system has a history, and it has changed over time. We try to say which tradition, school or text a meaning comes from. For example, we say whether a numerology result uses the Pythagorean or the Chaldean letter table, and whether a chart uses the tropical or the sidereal zodiac.
We draw on primary texts where we can, along with respected histories and reference works. We avoid presenting one modern interpretation as if it were ancient or universal.
Calculations and tools
- Every report shows its method: the inputs, the steps and the conventions used.
- When a tradition has more than one common method, we name the one we chose and note that others may differ.
- Results that do not involve a random draw are always the same for the same inputs.
- Random draws (cards, runes, dice) use a recorded seed, so a shared reading shows exactly the same result.
No fake certainty
We keep a clear line between four different things:
- History: what the records show about where a practice came from.
- Tradition: what practitioners believe and teach.
- Interpretation: what a symbol might mean for you.
- Evidence: what careful scientific study does and does not support.
We do not make guaranteed predictions. We do not make health claims. We never invent statistics, studies, quotes, reviews or user numbers. When evidence is weak, mixed or missing, we say so in plain words.
Health-related topics
Some tools touch on the body, such as chakras, auras, sound or palm features. We present these as traditions for reflection. We do not diagnose anything, and we suggest seeing a qualified professional for any health concern.
AI-assisted text
Tools labelled AI build most of their reports on your device from fixed meaning tables and real calculations. Where an optional AI-written section appears, it is clearly labelled. It is not checked by a person before you see it, so treat it as a starting point for thought, not a fact.
Corrections and updates
We get things wrong sometimes. When we do, we want to fix it quickly.
- Email contact@mystic.tools with the page link, the problem and a source if you have one.
- We review every correction and update the page when it is warranted.
- Pages show a "last updated" date when we make a meaningful change.
