What is the Soul Urge Number Calculator?
Your Soul Urge number, also called the Heart's Desire, comes from the vowels in your full birth name. Vowels are the open, flowing sounds of a name, so numerology reads them as your inner voice: what you want deep down, what motivates you, and what makes you feel fulfilled.
It is often quite private. Friends may not see your Soul Urge at first, because what shows on the outside is your Personality number (from the consonants). This report compares the two, so you can see the gap, or the match, between what you want and how you come across.
How it works
A, E, I, O and U are always vowels. Y is a vowel when it makes a vowel sound. In practice: Y counts as a vowel when it is not next to another vowel (Lynn, Mary, Kelly, Yvonne). It counts as a consonant when it comes before a vowel and sounds like the y in "yes" (Yolanda, Maya), or when it follows a vowel and joins its sound (Ray, Murray). If your name is pronounced differently, choose "always vowel" or "always consonant".
Each name's vowels are added and reduced, then the totals are added and reduced again, keeping 11, 22 and 33. The report shows each step.
